"All ingredients should be at room temperature. When adding the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture in rich butter cookies, mix thoroughly or the dough will be crumbly. Chill dough if it is too soft to shape into a roll. Mold dough into rolls as big around as you want cookies to be. Wrap in aluminum foil or waxed paper. Dough may also be pressed into special molds. Chill until firm. Place rolls in freezer for a couple of hours for quick chilling. Cut straight down through dough with sharp knife to make thin slices. Dough may be stored three weeks and baked as needed. Always cover dough before placing int in the refrigerator."
